Had a fun half day trip Friday, 6/7. The beginning was very slow with no drift at all, but as soon as the tide started running, the fish became active. Caught a bunch of fluke, 3/1 shorts to keepers, a couple of dogfish and the requisite sea robin. Also got a few really big and beautiful sea bass that went back in to the Atlantic to swim until June 24 when the season opens. On the way back in, mate Dave spotted a few birds working off the Stonington breakwater and we dropped in a deep diving plug and each of the 3 guys on the trip, Ray, Tom, and Ed, got to catch a bass. Nice way to finish the trip. 3 great clients and beautiful weather made for a nice day and dinner went home with them, as well.
